Cardiovascular Disease

CDC stats – Every year about 735,000 Americans have a heart attack. Of these, 525,000 are a first heart attack and 210,000 happen in people who have already had a heart attack.
(Mozaffarian D, Benjamin EJ, Go AS, et al. Heart disease and stroke statistics—2015 update: a report from the American Heart Association. Circulation. 2015;131:e29-322.)

Atherosclerosis (a disease of the arteries characterized by the deposition of plaques of fatty material on their inner walls).  Beware, it could be lurking with no signs!

Bypass, heart attack, stroke, erectile dysfunction (that’s right, first sign of cardiovascular disease), shortness of breath, tightness in chest/shoulder…

Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn might be strict with his diet, he might be a bit extreme, but we just love his response to those who shoot down his proven methods for being too extreme…… the alternative of having your chest cracked open for a bypass and going through months of rehab to rebuild strength isn’t extreme? And that’s on the positive side!!!! We have seen too many cases of plaque ruptures in arteries causing sudden deaths in families…is that extreme enough?

Don’t underestimate the body’s ability to heal itself.  Call us.
